4.2 Formulating indicators (i)
Indicators in the logframe matrix can be formulated in various ways.
In development projects, it may be unrealistic to fix precise targets at the start of the project, particularly for indicators in the upper rows of the matrix.
In this case indicators can be formulated as objectives; that is, indicating the direction of change, but without setting numerical targets. Targets can be determined later on in the life of the project, when it becomes clearer what the project can realistically hope to achieve.
Sometimes the indicators only describe what will be measured. This is sometimes appropriate when targets are included in the formulation of the objective.
Now add your ideas for two or three indicators of the wider goal to the box below.
I have filled in the 'means of verification' box to show that the information is available in public records, although you would need to check that it is obtainable for the Laggan geographical area.
When you are happy with your indicators add them to your saveable logframe.
