Engaging citizens in sensing their local environment is a form of citizen science.

Activity 2 City sensing

Timing: Allow about 15 minutes

Do some research and make some notes on the following questions:

  • What do you think are the benefits of city sensing projects that have citizen involvement as one of their key elements?

  • Which applications of city sensors do you think have the greatest potential to have an impact on your city and the people who live there?

  • Are there any sensor projects in your city?
