Professional biography
Eric is Head of School for Education, Childhood, Youth and Sport (ECYS).I'm a Senior Lecturer in Educational Leadership and Management and a Chartered Fellow of both The Chartered Management Institute (CMI) and BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT. My teaching primarily focuses on leadership and management in education, but I have contributed to several of the OUs Masters in Education modules. I am co-author of four masters modules: E855 Leading professional practice in education, E856 Educational leadership: context, strategy and collaboration, EE812 Educational leadership: exploring strategy and EE813 MA Ed dissertation: leadership and management. As head of the taught postgraduate qualifications in the faculty from 2013 to 2016, I led the development of the new MA in Education qualification (F70) which started its first presentation in October 2015. I am passionate about education and development and have contributed to some of the Open University’s work in Ghana, India and Bangladesh. My research interests are broadly in teacher/headteacher professional learning across cultures and contexts.
