Garrett Fagan is an associate lecturer with The Open University and teaches on A111 (Discovering the Arts and Humanities).
The Benin Bronzes have been an area of interest for Garrett from teaching on A111 and its predecessor courses AA100 (The Arts Past and Present) and A105 (Voices, Texts and Material Culture). Garrett teaches on a variety of level one interdisciplinary modules: alongside A111, he teaches on A112 (Cultures) and A113 (Revolutions). He also teaches literature modules at the OU, including A230 (Reading and Studying Literature), A233 (Telling stories: the novel and beyond) and A334 (English Literature from Shakespeare to Austen). He has taught literature at several universities in the UK and Ireland.
Garrett has interests in Renaissance literature, Irish writing and the relationship between law and literature.
