Professional biography
Dr Helen Kaye is a Senior Lecturer inPsychology, Faculty of Arts & Social Sciences, The Open University. I completed a PhD in animal learning at University College Cardiff, spending part of the time in the Institute of Physiology in Prague. I completed 2 years post doctoral work in Cardiff and 3 years at the University of Cambridge in Experimental Psychology. I began working for the Open University in 1990 as a part-time tutor on psychology and biology modules, and became a Staff Tutor first in London then in the East of England. I began working as a full time central academic in Psychology in 2009. Between 2005 and 2010 I was part of the OU Centre for Excellence in Teaching and Learning (CETL). Research interests My research interests lie in learning. My early work investigated Pavlovian conditioning, contextual learning and brain mechanisms of attention. More recently my work has investigated factors influencing student learning. I am also interested in change blindness and eyewitness identification. I am part of theForensic Psychology Research Groupwhere I work closely withProf Graham Pike,Dr Nicola Brace,Dr Jim Turner,Dr Hayley Ness,Dr Gemma Briggs,Dr Catriona HavardandDr Gini Harrison.
