Professional biography

Dr Jo Jarvis is a Citizen Science researcher and passionate science communicator with the Open University. She previously worked on the prototype of the PIRATE (Physics Innovations Robotic Telescope Explorer), telescope and now works on citizen science experiments and video resources linked with the EU ASTERICS project.

Based in Bedford, Jo developed her interest in astronomy at a young age learning from Bedford Astronomical Society. She remains a member of the society today, works closely with a number of local schools and enjoys sharing her passion for science with her son.
