Dr Peter Wood

About me

Peter is a Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society (RGS) and leads the Open University's Brexit Hub.

His research and teaching takes in Brexit, digital experiences, organisational change and sustainable mobility. These topics are linked through a common focus in analysing how spaces and  places relate to behaviour change. His early work has investigated how travel choices influence people’s experiences of urban life and public space, explored how family and work commitments shape how people learn new skills. He is currently analysing how and why people get involved with campaigns for sustainability and community, and the different forms of sustainability or community they strive to produce.

At the Open University, Peter is responsible for producing many of the educational materials published by the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences. He is has led the Geography Matters Collection and the Brexit Hub.
