6.5 Summary of Section 6

In this section, the story of Gloria and Rupert continued. Their attention shifted to solid-state drives. You learned that the use of SSDs is steadily increasing, in contrast to HDDs, which are in decline. You also learned that SSDs are designed to be fragmented and this is one of the reasons why it is much harder to piece together a previously ‘deleted’ file – a nightmare for digital forensics.
