3 Computational thinking everywhere

At the very beginning of this course, computational thinking was presented as a desirable skill – arguably the skill for the twenty-first century. Why? Well, in recent years, computational thinking has led to exciting developments and discoveries in a number of fields. This has caused a demand for people with computational thinking skills to move these fields forward even further. In this section, you will encounter some of these applications of computational thinking. Watch the videos, but don’t worry if you can’t follow all of it. We want you to get a feel for the big picture – you’re not expected to remember everything in detail.
