1. A rectangular drawing representing a house. Dining room, kitchen, bathroom and bedroom 2 are labelled as facing ‘cold north-east’ and are at the back of the house. Living room, bedroom 1 and porch are at the front of the house and labelled as facing ‘afternoon sun’.

3. This relates to figure b and is a cross-section through a house with a loggia roof. The diagram is labelled as having ‘summer sun’ restricted from coming into the building by the loggia roof, and ‘winter sun shining into the house.
