If these circles represent the neurotype of the global population, a neurodiverse society would look like this, as everyone’s brain is unique in the way it thinks, learns and processes information.
But some people’s neurotype is notably different from the rest. We call these people neurodivergent because they are markedly different from the neurotypical.
The traits that characterise neurodivergent conditions overlap, and neurodivergent people can be diagnosed with one or more conditions: dyscalculia, dyspraxia, autism, ADHD, dyslexia, other.
