Illustrating the animated film used in Heider and Simmel’s 1944 experiment, the figure shows simple geometric shapes: a large triangle, a small triangle, a circle, and a rectangle resembling a house with a door. These shapes are arranged in different positions: the small circle and triangle are together outside the house; the big triangle has opened the house’s door and is on its way to join them.
