You can create an e-petition about anything that the government is responsible for and if it gets at least 100,000 signatures, it will be considered for debate in the House of Commons".

It was initiated by government and encourages people to participate through an online platform. HM Government e-petitions is national in orientation and concerned with democracy, politics & representation.

It was launched in July 2011 and is ongoing. 8 million people are involved.
