Life in a day logo Copyrighted  image Icon Copyright: Life in a Day Life in a Day "brings together the most compelling footage from YouTube to create a 90-minute film [which] offers a unique experience that shows—with beauty, humor, and joyful honesty—what it's like to be alive on Earth today".

It was initiated by a media organisation and a for-profit enterprise and encouraged people to participate through an online platform. Life in a Day was global in orientation and concerned with participation.

It was announced on 6 July 2010 and all clips were recorded on 24 July 2010. The film debuted at the Sundance Film Festival on 27 January 2011. 80,000 people contributed footage.
