Who Wants to Be? describes itself as "an ask-the audience game show, where the audience asks the questions, comes up with the answers, and sets the rules! Using two visualisation systems, some gameshow glitz and a visual voting system, a large audience can brainstorm, feedback, and generate the most incredible ideas together".

It was initiated by artists & cultural organisations and designers & developers and encourages people to participate through public assembly, special event, and voting. Who Wants to Be? is local in orientation and concerned with participation.

It was launched in 2006 and is ongoing.
