The Secret History of our Streets: 'A tourist's guide to our secret streets'

Updated Friday, 7th December 2018

We had offered a free 16-page booklet, with folding historic map from Charles Booth and fascinating stories behind the streets in five UK cities, but this is no longer available.

'A tourists guide to our secret streets' has been produced to accompany a brand new series for BBC2, 'The secret history of our streets' starting on Wednesday 6 June. The booklet looks at the 'poverty maps' compiled by Charles Booth, and includes a fold-out facsimile of a London street featured in the BBC series. There are illustrated stories tracing social trends from the 19th century to the present day in Sheffield, Glasgow, Cardiff, Manchester and London.

Unfortunately this print item was so popular that we have run out of stock.
