The timeless story of Alice and her 'mad' adventures in Wonderland has enchanted generations since it was first published in 1865. The book written by Lewis Carroll (real name: Charles Lutwidge Dodgson) and illustrated by John Tenniel has never been out of print and has been translated into at least 174 languages.
It is incredibly influential in pop culture (along with the sequel Through the Looking-Glass, and What Alice Found There) and has been made into numerous films with the 1951 animation from Walt Disney Animation Studios being arguably the most well known of the Alice film adaptations, and considered one of Disney's great classics.
