Dr Cristina De Matteis works at the Pharmacy School at the University of Nottingham, where she is a lecturer in Pharmaceutical Chemistry and a Science Communication Fellow. For five years her unique fusion of fine art photography and 3D rendering has been intriguing and enticing the public.

Her work began when she won a science communication award from the BBSRC, and together with additional funding from the Royal Society of Chemistry and COPUS she developed her exhibition of photographs. This exhibition has toured across Britain, visiting venues which include Gatwick Airport, NatWest banks, a theatre in Cardiff and a shopping centre in Edinburgh. For the television series of short films she has received additional funding from the EPSRC
