TESSA is an international research and development initiative which brings together teachers and teacher educators from across Sub-Saharan Africa. It offers a range of materials (Open Educational Resources) in four languages to support school based teacher education and training.
The TESSA team, working with partners, have developed some free, online courses for teachers and teacher educators.
The courses are short and if you complete them successfully (by visiting every page and doing a quiz) you will be awarded a digital badge. You can download the badge as evidence of successful study.
If you work in an academic institution, you could use the course as part of your assessment. You could for example, ask students to complete the course and present the digital badge as part of an assessment task which you could devise and relate to the content of the course.
If you are an Education Officer, you could choose to accept the digital badge as part of a teacher’s evidence that they have undertaken continuing professional development.
