 consider issues related to doing business in different cultures.

In the second half of the week you'll work with definitions of 'culture' and find out about intercultural skills at the workplace.

Welcome to week 2. If you’ve just joined the course, why not click on week 1 activities to catch up on week 1?

This week you will be looking at some theories about ‘national cultures’.  You will consider problems that can occur in intercultural encounters and possible ways of avoiding or minimising these. At the end of the week, you will reflect in some detail on your own autobiography of intercultural encounters. To make a start, go to week 2 activities.

This week you’ll be looking at the importance of language skills as part of intercultural competence and then you’ll reflect on your own intercultural profile. At the end of the week, you’ll set some personal goals for developing your skills in these areas. To start off your studies this week, go to the week 3 activities.

This section will provide some final thoughts and a concluding statement revolving around the topics and aspects of ‘being global’, which you have engaged with over the last three weeks.
