Assigning Homework
1. Why Homework? - It is important that the students have a take away from every live session they attend. It is also a way to ensure the subject mastery and knowledge retention.
2. How to assign Homework?
As you click the Assign Homework button, a page opens which asks the following details about the Batch and Timing for the homework.
Homework being an integral part of the live class experience, there is a specified layout prescribed for its preparation.
We follow the SAARC* Rubrics for evaluation:

The Homework is assigned in the following five parameters as shown in the rubric:
Scaffolding Homework questions/tasks has to be scaffolded, there should be a specified ratio within knowledge, understanding and application questions based on the context.
Alignment Homework prepared should always be aligned to the content taught in the live classes.
Adequacy The homework paper should contain enough question to challenge the content taught in the live class.
Rigor The questions should be rigorous enough and should pose a thinking challenge to the children aligned to their subject mastery.
Creativity The homework should provide a space where children can explore subject and concepts beyond their classroom experience and prescribed textbooks.
Procedure for Homework Review and Evaluation:
1. Create homework using the EM Smart homework maker form. (Can only be used with the extramarks.net IDs)
2. You will be directed to a sheet where realtime review will happen along with the QC members and representatives from the Academic Team.

5 Questions - 2 Factual, 1 Understanding , 1 Evaluation, 1 Application
6 Questions - 3 Factual , 2 Understanding, 1 Application
7 Questions - 3 Factual , 2 Understanding, 1 Evaluation, 1 Application

The process flow right from the homework creation to assigning it to students.
Assigning Homework from extramarks repository
STEP 1 : Sign in using your login credentials and go to create/ assign homeworks.

STEP 2 : Under Manage question paper tab, select create question paper option.
STEP 3 : Fill in all details. Keep in mind to select the options “without homework” and question inclusion method in the bottom left as “manual”.

Step 4: It will redirect you to the next dialog box , the minute you select manual;There Enter the characteristics of the questions i.e. the bloom level of the questions. The difficulty level of the question you want to add and the source as “Extramarks Repository”. Also select the chapter from where you want to add the questions from. Enter Save as draft.
Step 5: Now that your homework is created. Make the structure of your homework and add all the instructions for the homework. 
STEP 6: Next you will find a dynamic form , fill the details and you will find an option for advanced search , after selecting the search option , you will find a set of questions present in the extramarks repository. Select the questions aligning with SAARC Rubric. And save the document as a draft.

Step 7 : Repeat the process from step 4 to add questions from other levels of the blooms taxonomy for the rest of the homework.

To Remember:
1. Prepare the homework in a scaffolded manner, keep in mind the time and align it to the taught objective.
2. Present the answer key and upload along with the homework. Make sure the answer is mentioned in details in the answer key the machine learning engine look for key words while analyzing the answers.
3. If you are not uploading the answer key make sure, you get the uploaded works and provide feedback for children.
4. Follow up on the homework or ask questions in the session to bring in accountability of the class.
