
| Joy is not a distraction from politics – it is political. For queer, trans, and feminist activists, joy offers a counterforce to fear and erasure. It affirms the value of queer life in contexts where ‘anti-gender’ campaigns depend on moral panic and hostility. Joy is therefore both a survival strategy and a public challenge to repressive norms. |
