The purpose of the resource

The purpose of this COER is to share and promote innovative interprofessional practice to support assets based approaches to working with communities. Specifically, this resource is to help you think about your personal, family and your community identity and how different aspects of your these relate to your professional identity and your professional practice.  This resource can be used as a stand alone activity or you can use it to contribute to your study of the module  'Professional Identities and inter-professional working' if you wish to get accreditation. The 'Assets based Collaborative Open Educational Resources' have been created through a collaborative process that we would like to extend to all interested users.

What you will get from working through this resource

By studying this resource you will study an assets-based organisation in Scotland and consider how practitioners use different aspects of their identity when working with young people. You will also consider how different aspects of community youth workers' identity impacts on their practice in different European contexts. You will watch a video and you will consider some critical questions designed to prompt you to reflect on your own identity and how that impacts on your own practice. Through studying this resource you will consider how identity is multifaceted and how different socio-cultural processes shape identity and professional practice.

We would greatly appreciate any feedback from you about your general impressions and experience of our course content and ask if you could answer two short questions. The answers you give will be used to improve the quality of our educational content. If you agree to answer the questions please click on the link.

(You can complete the quick one-minute feedback questionnaire now or in the summary section at the end of the course.)
