How to invite others to collaborate

To invite others to collaborate on the course:

• Ask your colleague(s) to sign up and sign in to OpenLearn Create.
• Send an email to openlearncreate@open.ac.uk with the following information:
  • the course title and URL
  • the names and email addresses of the people to enrol on the course with the Collaborator role.
• As soon as the OpenLearn Create team has confirmed they are enrolled, your colleague(s) can navigate to the course either via the course URL or in their OpenLearn Create profile. (Note that they will not be sent notification emails telling them when they are enrolled on the course.)
• Your colleague(s) will now be able to see the learner view of the course with the additional Edit your course button now visible. They can then click on Edit your course and can see the editing screens. They will also be able to view the enrolled users list and will be able to see all names on the list along with their roles. They will not be able to amend the roles of others apart from being able to remove the Collaborator role.
• Your colleague(s) with the Collaborator role for the draft course can also access and update the Settings form.

General data protection rules

Please note that for data protection reasons, you must never share your email address and password for your OpenLearn Create account with colleagues or other learners to enable them to log in as you. They must create and use their own account to enrol on and manage courses.

If you want someone else to co-manage your course, they must send a completed data declaration form to the OpenLearn Create team before they can be granted permission to do so.
