Section 8. Ethical considerations in LMOOCs

1. 1

Publications on the subject of ICT (information and communication technology) have focussed on how brand-new learning tools and environments have created excellent opportunities as well as certain difficulties for language learning and teaching, but is is less obvious how these virtual environments and technologies have influenced the ethics of language education.

Ethics penetrated all spheres of our lives, including our teaching and learning practices. Ethics is the science that deals with validity of actions it terms of some moral values and actions. At present being ethical from the pedagogical perspective means recognizing various sets of values, motivating moral reasoning and offering cultural and linguistic variation. This refers to the educational materials because the content that is taught should reflect certain ethical values and practices.
