4. Using local resources

4.1. Storing and sharing local resources

Local resources can be used to support teaching and learning in all subjects and at all levels. For this reason, it is important to share how you use local resources in your lessons with other colleagues. Doing this will be much easier if you can find a space in your school to store all the resources.

Here is a list of items that are readily available in your homes and in the community. For each one, think of a way of using it to support teaching.

Old food packets
Bottle tops
Plastic water bottles
Tins and cans
Newspaper
Leaflets
Buttons
Stones and sticks
Plants and leaves
