I have been teaching in business programs in our local college and university for more than 10 years. I know I am a very open minded and inclusive person. I have been taught more than 20 different business/commerce courses in the institutions. What I found there is lots of barriers for the business team's collaboration in teaching. One thing is that in most of the case, everyone has their own "area", you don't want to share any marketing topics with an accounting instructor. I hope in the future I can get more creative ideas for how the different discipline instructors can collaborate in OER or OEP.
I find the practice of guest lectures, or guest webinars to be an effective pathway to collaboration with others in my school or department. Generally, while business instructors may have their niche courses they teach, they often have broad experience in a variety of business practices. It's nice for your learners to hear a different voice from yours (diversity!), and it can be a reciprocal experience, the more you invite colleagues to interact with your learners, the more likely you will be invited to do so with their learners. Perhaps try to devise some collaborative assessments that your learners, and learners from a different discipline can work on together. This also works across departments, for example if you have a Fine Arts department at you school you might want to invite arts students in to help your students visualize data in a different way that creates good communication. Lots of possibilities I think!
