Consider the following questions and discuss as a group:
- How can you build leadership and peer support to tackle gender stereotyping in your school?
- Is there dedicated time at staff meetings for discussion on gender stereotyping, unconscious bias and any related concerns?
- Are your current school policies and culture effective in tackling sexist language and behaviour in your school?
- Do staff feel able to challenge each other and learners constructively?
- What action and activities could you develop in your school to progress gender equality for all staff and students?
- How can you encourage a good gender balance in STEM clubs, sports teams and other school activities?
- How might subjects and activities be presented to encourage young people who might not otherwise engage with them?
- Are there opportunities for students to actively engage in tackling gender stereotypes and inequality in your school?
- Are there any issues which have emerged from taking part in this course where you feel you would benefit from further training and resources?
- What are the next steps for you and your school to take forward work on this issue?
