Limitations

Unfortunately there are limitations to what we can achieve in child safeguarding.

Tackling cultural beliefs is a difficult and sensitive issue particularly with regards to child safeguarding. There are unfortunately limitations to what SKIP can achieve in tackling this problem in other countries for many reasons.

However, It is important that we remain professional in these situations. Realising our own feelings and the feelings of others, where they come from and how they might be impacting on our actions can help.

We are making progress at a national level to collaborate with other national charities and organisations to explore what real impact we can achieve in child safeguarding. Including monitoring and evaluating our progress.

What do you need to do if you're concerned for a child?

    • Remain calm and professional

    • Gather basic information

    • Do not promise confidentiality if information is disclosed

    • Report immediately to the trustee on call
