Reporting Procedures

View

These are the reporting process for a child protection incident on Project.

Please read this carefully and make a note of any information you need. This is very important and you need to be aware of the actions you need to take.

To make the reporting process as simple and as easy as possible we have designed a simple universal reporting process.

In the event you have a child protection concern on project we would like you to:

    • Keep the information confidential

    • Report immediately to the trustee on call

When you report a child protection concern to a trustee, they will collate the information and the details required from you and ensure this is appropriately documented. It is important that all Child Protection incidents are reported directly to the trustees, even if you’re unsure of the severity of the incident.

On project, the number is for Trustee on call is 05603641543.

Child Protection concerns must be kept confidential by project volunteers and must not be shared without permission from the Board of Trustees. This is in the volunteer code of conduct.

It can feel very frustrating waiting for an incident to be investigated. Please allow the Board of Trustees to lead any investigations and discuss any concerns with them. SKIP will ensure you are kept up to date.

If you’re not sure whether to phone the trustee on call… phone! We are very friendly and would always rather know about an incident even if you’re not sure if it constitutes a child protection incident.

We will always try and support the welfare of the volunteer who reports the incident (and any of the volunteers involved) alongside the investigation. So if you are struggling in the aftermath of the incident please reach out for help.
