GETTING DONATIONS FOR NOURISH THE CHILDREN



There are a few different ways to receive donations for Nourish The Children, these are not all the ways which could be thought of, so brainstorm of ways you think you could get donations and share them with your upline so you can have a discussion thinking of all the problems that be discovered and see if it is a worthwhile route to try.


 WARM CONTACTS 

 Your warm contacts as you know by now are your biggest advantage, if they purchase a product, ask them if they would like to add a VitaMeal to their purchase and if yes, how many bags they would like to add. 

YOU NEED TO EXPLAIN THE DONATION WHEN ASKING THEM, WHAT IS THE PRICE AND WHAT IS IT ABOUT. 

If a warm contact has declined purchasing a product, revisit them about supporting the initiative. 

 If a warm contact does purchase any VitaMeals, ask them if they would like to support the initiative on a monthly basis. 

 When approaching anyone and explaining the initiative you can also just ask them for a donation for an amount they can spare, whether it’s R50 or R500, you can keep this money aside and once you have enough for a bag, purchase it. 

SOCIAL MEDIA 

 There are so many avenues on social media where you can promote the Nourish The Children initiative like community groups, personal pages, business pages, other groups, direct messages and more. 

 Create a video of you speaking about Nourish The Children and why the cause is important to you or why you donate and post it on your story with a poll.

 Put up a poll asking Do you give back to the community? YES | NO

 Post a promotional video of Nourish The Children and a poll attached for donations. 

Send a message to your community group with a brochure or image attached, do the same on any online groups. 

 These are just a few ways to get donations on social media. 

BUSINESS PROPOSALS 

 In this unit, you will find a document titled Nourish The Children proposal, save this document or create your own with your business name and your own initiative to reward the company for supporting the initiative.

 If you do decide to create your own, use Canva and remember professionalism in terms of color and layout. Also run it past your upline so they can ensure it follows and regulations and is presentable to a corporate company. 

If you know any small business owners or large corporates that you can contact, create a spreadsheet like the attached example later in this unit and Google corporate businesses in your area or small businesses in your area and contact them to take on the initiative as a part of their CSR. 

Even approaching stores such as Spar could work greatly in your favour. If you get 10 stores to give you R2 000, you have hit your promotion or your monthly target. 

STANDING AT MALLS

 Even if this doesn’t seem like a glamorous thing, it doesn't matter, it is definitely worthwhile, grab a few teamies and hit the mall asking for donations. With this all you need is 2 000 people to give you R10 or less people to give you more and you’re at your promotion or monthly target.

 When you do this type of strategy, remember to be professional and presentable in your manner as well as your appearance. Do not overdo your makeup, jewellery or outfit. Rather put basic makeup, do your hair simply straightened or tied back, no jewellery and a pair of white or black jeans with a white or black t-shirt and some sneakers.

 Also print a register and ask people for their details in order to receive a certificate for their donation and then you have more contacts for products or potential recruits. Print the flyer that is attached later on in this unit titled Nourish The Children Mall Flyer and call centre management for permission to work the initiative at a certain entrance, grab your teamies and go on a Saturday & Sunday once a month for 4-6 hours.
