Welcome to the FIFA Guardians™ Safeguarding in Football Diploma

This FIFA Diploma pathway is for Nominated FIFA Learners only.

Here you will find all the available courses that make up the FIFA Guardians Safeguarding in Football Diploma.

This course is free and you can earn a FIFA/Open University digital badge and a FIFA certificate of completion for your learning. In order to take part in the course and obtain your certificate and digital badge, follow this two-step process:

• First, register an account and log in to this platform (if you already have an Open University account you can use your existing login).

• Then, to enter the course, click the 'Get started' button below and use the enrolment key that will be sent to you by the FIFA Guardians team.

Course 2: FIFA Guardians™ Starting your Safeguarding Journey

You must successfully complete Course 1 before starting Course 2. This course supports those who are new to their safeguarding role or wish to build on their knowledge. It is approximately 12 hours of online learning.

To take part in Course 2 and obtain your certificate and digital badge, follow this two-step process:

• Use your existing Open University account from Course 1 to log in to this platform.
• Then, to enter the course, click the ‘Get started’ button below and use the personal enrolment key that was sent to you for Course 2.

Course 3: FIFA Guardians™ Developing your Safeguarding Effectiveness

You must successfully complete Course 2 before starting Course 3. This course continues to build the knowledge of those who are new to their safeguarding role including clarifying recommended ways of working. It is approximately 30 hours of online learning including a written assignment.

To take part in Course 3 and obtain your certificate and digital badge, follow this two-step process:

• Use your existing Open University account from Courses 1 and 2 to log in to this platform.
• Then, to enter the course, click the ‘Get started’ button below and use the personal enrolment key that was sent to you for Course 3.

Course 4: FIFA Guardians™ Embedding Safeguarding Practice

You must successfully complete Course 3 before starting Course 4. This course extends your knowledge of some central safeguarding topics and explains some new principles and practices.

The aim is to provide you with the knowledge to help you embed safeguarding practice across your organisation and build your range of experience. It is approximately 20 hours of online learning.

To take part in Course 4 and obtain your certificate and digital badge, follow this two-step process:

• Use your existing Open University account from Courses 1, 2 and 3 to log in to this platform.
• Then, to enter the course, click the ‘Get started’ button below and use the personal enrolment key that was sent to you for Course 4.

Course 5: FIFA Guardians™ Promoting Wider Safeguarding Change

You must successfully complete Course 4 before starting Course 5. This course introduces a new topic – safeguarding in the digital world – and looks forward to helping you think about how your organisation might learn from safeguarding experiences and develop a positive safeguarding culture.

The aim is to assist your organisation to keep moving forward on your safeguarding journey. The course will also reinforce your existing knowledge and help you to identify organisational strengths and weaknesses. It is approximately 7 hours of online learning.
