11 Importance of quality control

In previous modules you learned how microbiology laboratories act as ‘data collectors’ and have an important role in ensuring that test results are accurate, reliable, valid and comparable. You further learned about different quality procedures that laboratories put in place to identify, correct and/or reduce errors.
