5.4 National action plans

In 2015, the WHO Assembly adopted the global action plan (GAP) on AMR. The GAP is essentially a commitment by all members of the WHO to protect and responsibly use antimicrobials for the continued successful treatment and prevention of infectious diseases. At the same time, Member States committed to establishing their own context-specific national action plans (NAPs) that address AMR and AMU in people, animals and the environment. Over 150 countries have published NAPs on AMR and AMU, with some countries now onto their second version.

The WHO also compiled an electronic library of many of the NAPs which you can search on the WHO website [Tip: hold Ctrl and click a link to open it in a new tab. (Hide tip)] when you have time.
