By now you should have completed all the courses in your study pathway. In this section you will:

  • reflect on your progress towards your learning goals across the pathway
  • share what you have learned with your colleagues
  • think about your next steps to develop your skills as an AMR surveillance professional.

Activity 11: Reflecting on your skills and goals

Timing: Allow about 20 minutes

Part 1

In Activity 7 you rated your confidence in a range of skills and attributes relevant to your work in AMR. Repeat this activity now using the interactive tool below to assess how your confidence has changed at the end of this course. Begin by adding the skills that you identified in Activity 3 to the boxes on the left-hand side and then use the scale to rate yourself for each of them:

  • 5 Very confident
  • 4 Confident
  • 3 Neither confident or not confident
  • 2 Not very confident
  • 1 Not at all confident

An important aspect of continuing professional development is sharing what you have learned. In the final activity in this course you will share what you have learned with your colleagues.

Activity 13: Sharing what you have learned

Timing: Allow about 20 minutes

In this activity you think about how you can share what you have learned on this programme with others. Make a note of how you might want to share what you have learned in the space below. The precise way that you share what you have learned will depend on your role and your workplace, but some suggestions include:

  • a short (15-minute) slide presentation that you could give at a meeting of your group or department
  • a short written report to share with your colleagues
  • an informal ‘show and tell’ session with colleagues.

You could include:

  • a summary of what you learned – you may want to pick one aspect of the course that you enjoyed, a course that was particularly relevant to your work or points you think are important for your colleagues to find out more about
  • your goals for the programme and the skills you wanted to develop
  • how studying the programme helped you to achieve your goals and develop these skills
  • how what you have learned relates to your role
  • how this programme has influenced how you work and/or will change how you work in the future
  • steps that you will take to build on what you have learned.

Once you have made your report, don’t forget to reflect on what went well and what you could improve. Did you get any feedback on your report from your colleagues?
