Innovation and research: JPIAMR

Background

The Joint Programming Initiative on Antimicrobial Resistance (JPIAMR) is a global collaborative platform, engaging 29 member nations to curb AMR with a One Health approach. The initiative coordinates national funding to support transnational research and activities within the six priority areas of the shared JPIAMR Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda:

  • therapeutics
  • diagnostics
  • surveillance
  • transmission
  • environment
  • interventions.

Supported JPIAMR networks

JPIAMR supports research networks that enable researchers to collaborate across national and scientific borders to find new treatments, solutions and methods to tackle AMR. JPIAMR coordinates joint transnational calls supporting research networks within the six priority areas of the shared JPIAMR Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda (SRIA) with a One Health approach. You can search for JPIAMR funded networks on its database. [Tip: hold Ctrl and click a link to open it in a new tab. (Hide tip)]

JPIAMR networks encourage communication, collaboration and engagement between AMR stakeholders. These types of networks and communication are important in ensuring that available resources are used optimally: by minimising duplication of effort, helping to harmonise data collection so that results are comparable, and allowing stakeholders to share learning and experience.
