Welcome to FIFA Guardians™ Embedding Safeguarding Practice
This course is for Global Football Community Learners and is part of the FIFA Guardians™ Safeguarding in Football Award.
This course extends your knowledge of some central safeguarding topics and explains some new principles and practices. The aim is to provide you with the knowledge to help you embed safeguarding practice across your organisation and build your range of experience.
This course consists of approximately 20 hours of online learning and quizzes, which can be completed at your own pace. Throughout, examples of good practice are used to both learn from and help you build support in your organisation and beyond.
It is important to know that completing this education programme will not guarantee footballing environments and activities to be 100% safe. Inappropriately designed programmes and poor operational management can put people, especially children and youth, at risk of harm. We hope that by taking this course, risk of harm can be identified and reduced and that everyone can participate in football in a safe and supportive environment, free from all forms of harassment and abuse.

If you want to earn a FIFA/Open University course certificate and digital badge for your learning, you will need to do the following:
1. Enrol on the course. Once you have done so, you’ll be returned to this screen.
2. Complete the two declarations about your eligibility to study the course.
3. Complete the course content to the end. Ensure that all eight sessions have been completed (including watching all videos to the end) and that each section of a session has a green tick next to it.
4. Score 70% or higher in each of the three course quizzes. If you don’t pass one first time, you can retake each quiz again as many times as you need until you do pass.
Please note: If you are a Nominated FIFA Learner, you need to enrol on the Nominated FIFA Learner pathway.
