By encouraging ongoing learning and recognizing achievements, it helps build a vibrant community of practice in energy system modelling. The framework is designed to be flexible, accommodating various modelling approaches while promoting awareness of capacity-building opportunities through CCG's Energy Modelling Platform events, and similar programs. This structure not only standardises skill recognition but also connects modellers to a broader professional network, fostering knowledge sharing and professional development in the field of energy and resource system modelling. Applicants will earn the OSeMOSYS - Gold Proficiency Badge; if their submission meets the following criteria.

Adapt teaching methods to accommodate diverse learning styles and needs
-
Provide constructive feedback to learners on their modelling exercises
-
Effectively communicate complex modelling concepts to novice learners
-
Support lead instructors in the overall delivery of training programs

Demonstrate awareness of ethical considerations in energy system modelling instruction
Applicant needs to provide evidence for completion of following activities:

5 years work/project experience with OSeMOSYS OR PhD plus 2 years project experience

Demonstrate at least two of the following skills

Create innovative improvements and critical assessments of relevant modelling techniques and methodologies

Manage and develop highly complex energy/resource models that are able to solve critical real-world problems

Apply advanced coding and debugging skills to resolve intricate modelling challenges

Translate complex modelling results into actionable policy recommendations for senior decision-makers
Required Evidence:- Two signed letters of recommendation from existing gold badge holders AND
- A CV extract demonstrating the required experience AND
- Demonstrate at least two of the above skills with links to two pieces of documentation (as a lead author). Documentation can be in the form of peer-reviewed academic publications, policy papers, conference presentation, a GitHub read me file or equivalent.
