    • Geo-X: Geospatial Software for Production of Green Commodities

Welcome to the Geo-X training course. This six-lesson, self-directed course introduces Geo-X, an open-source geospatial modelling framework used to examine the production and delivery costs of green commodities. You will progress from understanding the model's applications and limitations through software setup, input-data preparation, model execution and results interpretation, before exploring advanced options such as dispatchable generation, flexible hydrogen demand and salt-cavern storage. Each lesson includes a short multiple-choice quiz, and Lessons 2–6 include hands-on activities using the public Geo-X repositories. The course is designed for beginners to Geo-X; basic familiarity with command-line tools, spreadsheets, Python/Jupyter or GIS software will help with the practical activities.

This is the September 2026 presentation of the course.
