MAED : Gold Proficiency Badge

Upon achieving the Gold Badge, holders should be able to do all silver level requirements and demonstrate at least two of the following skills:
  • Design and develop a complex MAED model, integrating the Industry, Household, Services, and Transport sectors.
  • Employ advanced MAED modelling techniques such as the Steel and/or Feedstock functions OR integrate MAED results into a supply-side analysis using an energy system optimiser model
  • Analyse and interpret results from different modelling scenarios that address real-world policy issues.
  • Communicate model results and explain their broader implications.
  • Demonstrate awareness of the limitations and assumptions in advanced MAED models.
Applicant needs to complete the following activities:
       3 years work/project experience with tool, OR relevant publication plus 2 years project experience
Required Evidence:
       Two letters of recommendation from existing Gold badge holders 
                       (No need to submit this for Inaugural badges)
       A CV extract demonstrating the required experience 
       Provide links to 2 peer-reviewed academic publications or policy papers, as lead author, showcasing at least two of the above skills (if appropriate, these skills can also be demonstrated through alternative documentation i.e. a conference presentation, GitHub readme doc etc.)
