point prevalence survey (PPS)The proportion of people with a particular characteristic at a certain point in time. It is determined by taking the total number of people with the characteristic divided by the total number of people in the population of interest. An antimicrobial stewardship (AMS) PPS measures the number of people taking antimicrobials at a given point in time. | |
