5 Designing a lesson plan for students
The Design Thinking Activity Plan Template was developed to help teachers plan design thinking projects using digital applications. The Design Thinking Activity Plan Template is a step-by-step guide for teachers to structure and implement a set of activities related to design thinking. It follows the Exten(DT)² Digital Design Thinking Model [Tip: hold Ctrl and click a link to open it in a new tab. (Hide tip)] and starts off by asking teachers to:
state the problem or issue students are going to engage with
identify activities for each phase of design thinking
state the learning objectives of their project
detail who their students are and whether they have any special learning requirements
identify how students will be assessed.
View the Word file download of the Design Thinking Activity Plan Template.
Completing the activity plan online has certain advantages as it enables teachers to make their plans public and visible to other teachers to read, comment, and get inspiration from. You can complete the activity plan anytime. By pressing the ‘submit’ button, this becomes automatically available online for others to read via the nQuire platform (this is a public citizen science platform and is different to nQuire for students).
Activity 10 Designing a lesson plan for students
Using the Exten(DT)² Digital Design Thinking Model and the Design Thinking Activity Plan Template, draft your own activity plan.
You will need one introductory activity and one activity for each phase of design thinking.
When you finalise it, you can make it public via Exten(DT)²: Activity plan for teachers on nQuire.
Next, move onto 6 Quiz.
