    • The badge system for instructors recognizes expertise in teaching and developing energy modelling capacity across organisations and tools. It provides a structured pathway for experienced modellers to develop their teaching abilities and contribute to building a strong community of practice in energy system modelling education. The framework emphasises both technical knowledge and pedagogical skills, promoting effective knowledge transfer through CCG's Energy Modelling Platform events and similar programs. This structure helps standardise instructional quality while connecting trainers to a broader network of modelling educators, fostering excellence in energy system modelling education and professional development. The framework accommodates various teaching approaches while ensuring consistent high-quality training delivery. The badge available in this course is the OSeMOSYS - Associate Instructor Badge,

    • Opened: Thursday, 5 December 2024, 12:00 AM

      Applicants will earn the OSeMOSYS - Associate Instructor Badge; if their submission meets the following criteria.

      • Design and deliver focused training modules on specific aspects of OSeMOSYS modelling

      • Adapt teaching methods to accommodate diverse learning styles and needs

      • Provide constructive feedback to learners on their modelling exercises

      • Effectively communicate complex modelling concepts to novice learners

      • Support lead instructors in the overall delivery of training programs

      • Demonstrate awareness of ethical considerations in energy system modelling instruction


      Applicant needs to provide evidence for completion of following activities:

      • Hold at least a Bronze proficiency badge in OSeMOSYS

      • Complete 40 hours of assisting/co-teaching with a Lead Instructor

      • Lead one training session independently (with observation by a Lead Instructor)
