8.8 Join with other changemakers

In 2021, Oxfam Novib joined the Pride Walk Amsterdam, aimed at bring the attention of the Dutch public to the challenges and struggles of LGBTQIA+ people and movements around the world, and to activate the sense of co-responsibility as global citizens.

As we have seen, connecting with others is a powerful step that all changemakers can make as part of their journey. Here are some suggestions which you could follow-up on:

• Look at local groups or community organisations that align with your values and interests and join them. Your experience in how change happens and making change happen could be a valuable addition.
• Are there national organisations or social movements that you are interested in adding your voice to? Strengthening their numbers and supporting their activities and mission can be a valuable channel for your efforts.
• What global causes interest and inspire you? Are there international movements, digital campaigns or social justice organisations that you could show your support and lend power to their causes?
