Are you interested in further learning?

The Open University offers several entry points for individuals seeking to acquire new skills or further their education. The North Lanarkshire Council Skills Pathway is available free of charge to all residents of North Lanarkshire. Additionally, OpenLearn and OpenLearn Create courses are also available for free to those interested in learning more.

Individuals earning less than £25,000 could qualify for funded Open University modules and qualifications.  Check the OU in Scotland website for more information about fees and funding. The OU in Scotland is available to support individuals seeking to pursue further learning opportunities.

North Lanarkshire Council remains committed to working with the Open University to expand the range of courses available on the Skills Pathway.

If you are considering undertaking study at Modular level, we recommend undertaking the Being an OU student course, which you can find on OpenLearn.

This course is for students who are enrolled to start their first undergraduate Open University module. If you have not yet enrolled on an OU module you will not be able to complete all the activities. You should visit the public OU website to find out more about our modules.

If you are enrolled on an Access module or postgraduate module, this course won't be relevant to you. Check StudentHome for links to resources to get you started.

If you’re enrolled on an Apprenticeship this course is relevant but you will also have additional resources to explain and help you prepare for your Apprenticeship programme.
