Nucleophilic substitution reactions
Course learning outcomesAt the end of the course , students should be able to
i) Identify a given nucleophilic substituion reaction as SN1, SN2 ( with or without NGP) or SNi and write the mechanism.
ii) Explain the effect of nature of substrate, leaving group, nucleophile, and solvent on the reaction pathway and stereochemical outcome of the reaction.
iii) Write the mechanism for a SNAr reaction.
iv)Predict the products of a SNAr reaction and identify the major and minor products.
