    • Making teacher education relevant for 21st century Africa

Welcome to Making teacher education relevant for 21st century Africa, based on the award-winning TESSA MOOC of the same name. The course looks at ways of supporting teachers and teacher educators in developing new approaches to teaching, in particular:

      • active teaching and learning, and what they look like in practice
      • the potential of ICT to support active teaching and learning
      • using OER in general, and TESSA resources in particular.

You can study on your own or with a group of colleagues. If internet access is a problem, you can download all the course content (except for the quizzes) and study offline. You will need to return online to complete the quizzes.

This course is free and gives you the opportunity to earn a free certificate with a digital badge as a recognition of your learning. You will be able to download and print your certificate, or attach your digital badge to your online professional profile.

This is undoubtedly an important course to improve teacher performance.
I am not a teacher, but in my student experience, I believe that many gaps can be closed if the procedures taught in this course are taken seriously.
I hope in due time to be able to apply what I learn throughout my participation in this course.
    My assessment is positive.
