Teacher resource for planning or adapting to use with pupils
Here are three different ways of presenting the same recipe.
Wash and cut meat, such as beef, into small pieces ↓ | |
Cook the meat in boiling water ↓ | ![]() |
Chop onions, tomatoes and peppers ↓ | |
Add chopped onions, tomatoes and peppers to meat and stir ↓ | |

Making pepper soup (ingredients and method)
Ingredients:
0.5 kg of beef (washed and cut in pieces)

4 onions

8 tomatoes

4 to 5 (or to taste) hot dried chilli peppers

Other vegetables, as available

1.5 litres of water

Method:
Put water in a pan and bring to boil.
Add meat pieces and simmer.
Add chopped onions, tomatoes, peppers and other vegetables, stir and leave to simmer.
When meat is tender, pour soup into bowls and eat with rice or boiled yam.
