Competition rules
Eligibility
- You must be a current student of the OU or have graduated on or after 31 January 2017.
- Employees of the Open University are not eligible to enter.
- If selected as a finalist, you or one of your team members must be able to present to the panel of judges at the 2nd round presentations.
Submission deadline
To enter the New Business Challenge you are required to submit your video pitch and business model canvas with accompanying notes by 5:00pm on Thursday 31 January 2019. Submissions must be made by the deadline and any late submissions will not be judged.
Important dates
5:00 pm Thursday 31 January 2019 – submission deadline. Entrants are to submit a two-minute video pitch along with their business model canvas and accompanying notes.
Thursday 28 February 2019 – Six students will be selected as finalists.
Friday 22 March 2019 – Pitch Day at Open University Library Digilab
Monday 29 April 2019 – Awards Ceremony at Open University Milton Keynes Campus.
Date to be confirmed – winning entry submitted to the Santander Universities Entrepreneurship Awards.
Friday 13 September - Sunday 15 September 2019 -- OU Accelerate weekend.
