The Safeguarding, Economic Inclusion and Gender Equality & Social Inclusion course was developed by Leonard Cheshire Disability - a leading pan-disability organization supporting inclusive programmes on education, economic inclusion, and safeguarding. Leonard Cheshire was part of the SFPK Consortium, along with The Open University (OU) UK and the International Labour Organization (ILO). The course was designed with SFPK stakeholders in mind, however the principles and concepts are adaptable and can be applied with minimal modifications in other contexts where women, youth, and persons with disabilities are engaged. 

The purpose of the course is to equip trainers and participants with systematic knowledge on safeguarding and inclusion of women, persons with disabilities and low-income youth, and to be able to use this knowledge to incorporate and mainstream safe and inclusive practices within institutional programmes, processes and decision making. 

The course is particularly relevant to trainers (ToTs) in Higher Education (HE) and TVET institutions. It contains three modules:

• Module 1: Safeguarding
• Module 2: Economic Inclusion
• Module 3: Gender Equality and Social Inclusion (GESI)

Graduates of this course will receive digital badges and a printable digital certificate of completion. They will be able to act as accountability safeguards/resource persons in ensuring the skills development and employment sector is safe for women, persons with disabilities and low-income youth.
